DRAP Launch- Launched by Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at National Urban Conclave 2025.
Objective- Fast-track clearance of 214 high-load legacy landfills across 202 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
Legacy Waste- Sites hold 8.8 crore tonnes of legacy waste, representing 80% of India's dumpsite burden.
Current Progress- 1,428 dumpsites under remediation; 1,048 of 2,476 cleared; 25 crore tonnes removed.
Land Recovery- Over 7,580 acres of urban land reclaimed for civic uses like green zones and public parks.
Funding- Central government provides ₹550 per tonne; ₹4,181 crore disbursed; supports ₹10,228 crore projects.
Deadline- Full clearance set between September and October 2026.
UiWIN Launch- Introduced alongside DRAP to mobilize private and multilateral capital for urban projects.
Managed by- HUDCO (Housing and Urban Development Corporation).
Focus Areas- Solid waste management, urban mobility, water and sewerage, climate-resilient infrastructure.
Monitoring Portal- Real-time DRAP monitoring portal launched for transparency and progress tracking.
Example- Delhi's Bhalswa landfill: 4.8 lakh tonnes cleared in 2.5 months; 40 lakh tonnes scheduled; 70 acres to be freed.
